Thanks Todd, I noticed that images that have not been viewed in more than 1 year would be automatically deleted from vgy.me. Unfortunately, most image hosting services have the same feature, I tried to upload it to a different hosting than edit my older posts. Let me know if I can assist or get images posted. So long as the images are under 1mb you can also use the attachment feature. We would hate to lose any of your content. I use vgy.me as well. I am now looking at postimages.org/ as their home page states "Get permanent links for Facebook, Twitter, message boards and blogs". I wonder if they dont delete based on the "permanent" statement. EDIT: from Postimages.org FAQ's How long will images remain on the server? You can upload unlimited images per post and you will never have to worry about your images being removed due to inactivity. Now of course terms can always change, but this is better than vgy.me.

Hi Laszlo, another question for you. Recently another forum posted on an early FEG/Springfield Armory prototype Hi Power. The thread on the Springfield Armory FEG/Hi Power from 2014 had a recent post, which got me to thinking about the relationship between Springfield Armory and FEG. Your FEG Export table shows Springfield Armory importing 16,000 FEG pistols, including the P9, P9m, P9R, P9RK and the FP9 between 1992 and 1994. The 16000 imported pistols by Springfield Armory is one of the larger importers. My question is, why have I never seen an FEG pistol with a Springfield Armory import mark, such as CAI or KBI, Kassnar etc. Do you know if Springfield was importing for other US distributors, or how did Springfield Armory distribute the 16000 pistols. With all of the interest in the Springfield Armory SA 35 Hi Power Clone (which many believe the main parts are sourced from Turkey and assembled here in the US, similar to what Charles Daly did), so just curious. Image of the Springfield Armory FEG prototype Hi Power. Or, is the image actually misleading or jumping to conclusions. Was this an actual prototype for a Springfield Hi Power clone, or was it just an FEG P9 which Springfield imported, no different than KBI or CAI?

The early Springfield Armory Inc (Importer reference code SPI) Hi-Power prototypes were made from the 300 FEG parts kits, which they bought between 1988-1990 through "Ferunion" Foreign Trade Co. Hungary. They made only 5 pistols from those kits. The additional 16.000 pcs of various types of pistols were also bought by Springfield Armory Inc between 1992-1994 but under a different ATF Importer reference code SII. This is because all of the 16k pistols are imported as redistribution to other US firms.

I have enjoyed your sharing of your FEG knowledge immensely. I have been a huge fan of FEG since the late 80's. I own a PJK 9HP and love it. The finish on it today is the same as when I bought it new back then. It is a B 055.. serial number and it shoots great. I also own a GKK 92C with the finger groove frame. Is that what you are referring to when you mention a flared frame instead of a straight frame ?? I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when you were interviewing some past employees of FEG. They were true craftsman to do what they did with the parts they had available to get paid to build a finished and good gun. I love my FEGs and am so glad I ran across your posts on this forum. Thank you sir so much !!

I bought a well worn P9M back in 2015 from a local pawn shop for 285.00 serial number B 21725 and dont know anything about it or much about these Hi Power clones in general as its the only one I own. Also do not know how to post photos on this forum as there is no option to browse for attachments.

We probably have the most comprehensive information on FEG Hi Power clone pistols anywhere. The original poster of this thread is Hungarian, and has done extensive studies on FEG, and we are the lucky beneficiaries of his research. Here is the link to his post with a chart for FEG serial numbers by production date highpowercollectors.proboards.com/post/7490If you cant read it, click open image in new tab, place your cursor on the chart and click and it should enlarge. From what I can tell from the various charts, B414XX would have a production date of 1989. Post some images when you get a chance.

I found this thread through a contact on another forum, and it is loaded with information. ℹ️ found the charts and consulted them before I made the deal. Very helpful.

I just picked it up from my LGS. How do I add pics? Congrats on your new to you FEG. In the create post box, top right corner is "Add Attachment". The image must be under 1 mb, so you might have to resize first. Click the add attachment, click the +add files, then find it on you computer. I think you can add up to three per post. Or if you use an image hosting service such as Imgur or Post Images, you can get the direct link from the host, click on the photo icon and past the image address. Hope it works, and congrats on your new FEG.

Greetings all! I've read this awesome post and wanted to verify what I had. I have an FEG P9 # L966xx (marked on front grip and slide) and the slide markings match Laslo's picture of a 1988. Does the serial number place it in 2000 when FEGArmy was "building" them out of existing pieces? If so, I'm guessing the slide came from 1988 and who knows about the rest of the parts. The interesting thing about this one (unlike my other P9M/PJK-9HP) is that there are NO import marks on it at all. Also there is a slightly off-center hole in the very bottom of the grip - maybe a lanyard ring at some point? If I figure out how to post pics I will. Thanks in advance for your help!
