Who carries what cartridge for their every day carry gun? These days, its the 9X19mm most of the time. Once in a while, though, something else manages to jump out of the safe and into my holster. Howard

The 9x19 seems to be increasingly popular with everyone but us old pharts... A commander in 45acp really isn't harder to carry than a lot of the semi-compact guns (say... G26/27 for example.) FWIW Chuck

Hello,
It seems I carry the G-19 most of these days in 9X19. It suits the environment that I live in and recently gave up on "sub-compact" firearms...

Arthritis forced me from the .45ACP to the .40 S&W to the 9x19mm. I carry the standard pressure 124 grain Federal HST JHP. Even the +P version of this load was uncomfortable for me to shoot. i.e. don't get old.

I still mostly carry a .45acp, but I care the .357SIG fairly often as well... The S&W Shield 45 makes carry of a 45acp pretty easy... though I also like a 1911 Commander as well. FWIW Chuck highpowercollectors.proboards.com/post/new/243

Anyways I moved from 45 ACP to 9mm too. I shot my BHP on Tuesday for qualification (great score). On Wednesday I was doing a detail strip for cleaning and I had the hardest time getting the firing pin and spring back into the channel and getting the FP retaining plate back on. I had to call my wife to help put the small parts in the BHP. In the future I think I will just stick with a field strip.

The guys at BHSS have a little tool for removal/installation of the firing pin stop plate that makes it a snap... Or as the old TV commercial used to say... 'Try it... you'll like it."

I've also gotten to where I wear a general purpose athletic half-finger glove on my shooting hand any time I carry. Durn these warranties anyhow.

During the hot months here in So. Az., I carry my KelTec P3AT with a CT laser and Silver Tip 380 ammo installed. I carry it in a wallet holster that works out just right for me.
