The country of origin should be easy enough to determine... by law the source country has to be on the gun.
Springfield has stated in advertising it is U.S. made.
Of course laws can be broken... though one would hope Springfield has better sense... we certainly don't need a gun maker in legal trouble.

Just posted on another forum, Springfield Armory confirms SA-35 slide dovetails are Novak cuts. This is contrary to the video evaluation by BHSS. Seems like a lot of speculation on the SA-35 (myself included). I suppose over time, with enough first hand reviews, analysis and confirmations and releases from Springfield Armory the SA-35 details and facts will eventually be revealed, and hopefully with that we can move away from assumptions and speculations.

I won't receive mine until the end of next week due to a huge number of guns waiting to be shipped from Kentucky Guns. No expedited processing available, so at least I cannot be tempted to spend more money! Six SA-35s arrived at their shop yesterday... all were spoken for. Patience!Cheers, Tim
Arrrgh...
Today, KY Guns says no SA-35s have ever arrived to their store and my wait will be another 30-60 days. I am still number 6 on the list of those who chose to pay up front. I certainly expected delivery by now.
On their web page, about two days ago, the retail price increased by $120 to $799.
Patience!
Tim

Hello, Tim,
We're using a different distributor, but ours hasn't shipped either. Ya know, the one that was supposed to ship the 'first week' of November...

Hello, Tim, We're using a different distributor, but ours hasn't shipped either. Ya know, the one that was supposed to ship the 'first week' of November... Tim, that has to be frustrating having the SA-35 teased to you as an early purchase at close to MSRP and then see it pulled back and have to wait an additional 30-60 days. Large retail sellers like Buds, Brownells, Cabelas (does not even come up in store search) all show out of stock. I have gone to a few local gun shops and their online search from their distributors and the SA-35 was not showing up. Gunbroker of course has multiple offerings, and prices are coming down, now appear to be high $800s to about $1000. They are coming from gun stores. I wonder what the SA supply chain is and how they or their distributor prioritize the distribution? I am sure they are loving the hype and the high demand, but that appears to be softening.

One of our local dealers who sells lots of Springfields got one in about 10 or so days ago... naturally it sold right off...
He said he will call me when the next one arrives... I'll cross my fingers.
He is selling for the factory list price...

Just as I was beginning to think SA-35 shipments had stalled, KY Guns called and said they are shipping it to me this afternoon. If this is true, I should have it on Friday.
*Confirmation email has been received for SN 3094.
I am hopeful this later made pistol has some of the kinks worked out.
WooHoo! Tim

Todd... TODAY IS THE DAY!
My FFL is open only from 4-6p on weekdays. I missed my pick up on the 10th and went to cover the Mayfield Kentucky tornadoes Saturday afternoon. Left Kentucky at 6am to be sure I could make it tonight because I think I'm going back there on Monday.
I hope to post first look impressions when I get home from the FFL. Not sure when I will be able to shoot it with work and the holidays. I might need to take the first half of January off to catch up with with my High Powers.
Cheers,
Tim

Great news Tim. Hopefully you are picking up your SA-35 as I type this post. You are way ahead of some of us on wait lists, with no real insight on where we stand in the queue. Looking forward to your comments as a Hi Power enthusiasts who is totally knowledgeable of the platform rather than some of these other reviews and comments which have little weight with me. Enjoy the SA-35 and I hope you get a good one. Stay safe. Todd

It's Here!
SA-35 #3094
First notes...
- The safety does engage the slide a bit when not cocked and will not allow the slide to travel rearward at first. Works as it should in half and full cock. I like the safety lever. I'll eventually be putting SFS in this one but the lever is nicer than the original on the 1943 model. Both have an appropriate "click" and general good feel.
- The sights are fine. They look usable.
- Compared to the Tisas and 1943, all of the edges of the frame and slide are sharper. The 1943 seems to be the most user friendly. I can see how this might be painfull.
- Trigger pull with the Lyman Digital gets an average of 4# 4.6oz. The high pull was the first in the string at 4# 9.7oz and the low was pull #6 at 4# 0.1oz.
- Reset is typical for the type 1 sear spring. Its a little longer than the Tisas (with SFS/C&S Trigger) and it seems to have a bit more travel after reset than the Tisas or the 1943. The 1943 feels really nice compared to the other two. You wouldn't notice much difference between the three shooting a magazine or two.
- When removing the slide, the recoil spring does bulge up. BHSS mentioned this. It makes it a tiny bit more difficult to reassemble. But...
- The slide/frame fit is really tight. Far too tight as there is quite a bit of friction even when sliding the slide on the frame with out the guide rod and bulging recoil spring in place. This alone could be a problem or require a long break-in period as the parts wear down.
Time for a much needed haircut.
I think I will field strip, clean and inspect her when I get home. Is there anything in particular I can look at for you?
Cheers,
Tim

Congrats Tim, on being one of the "Early Birds" of the SA-35! How is the metal finish? Machining marks inside and in particular outside surfaces? Thanks much for all the good feedback!

Congratulations Tim, glad you were able to get one as quickly as you did. Thanks for the initial comments, and looking forward to hearing what you think of the internal parts and the finish quality, both eternal and internal. I hope you have one that does not have extractor issues. I would be interested in knowing if the barrels and the slides are interchangeable, especialically with the tight frame to slide fit on your SA-35.
