It does look like many of the boxes have been checked, plus it is not a rebranded Turkish import, or polymer framed. There is an NRA video which states they placed a FN slide on the SA 35 frame and it ran. Which is a good indication of parts interchanging, or at least some. youtu.be/5QAbSCwI8Oo

Springfield says 'most if not all parts are interchangeable with FN made HPs,' though some fitting could be required. Same for accessories, I assume such as holsters, sights, mag carriers etc.
Mags are Mec-Gar thought that can change.
Price seems right at suggested retail of $699.00. Probably will retail on the street for something around $600...

I wonder if the new safety and trigger would both fit an FN frame, as well as the parts be available. If the safety does fit and is available, it would give a second option beyond the C&S safety.

I wonder what this pistol coming into the market will do to the value of original FN/Browning Hi Powers...

I wonder what this pistol coming into the market will do to the value of original FN/Browning Hi Powers... That is a good question. Probably will hurt the value of other clones more than FN manufactured pistols. I can see the new Turkish import EAA/Girsan getting killed by the Springfield Armory SA 35. The Tisas does not seem to be imported any longer, but will probably hurt resale value there, with perhaps the exception of the stainless steel model. FEGs and Charles Daly, hard to say. I think condition will have a lot to do with maintaining value of the original. Very good condition, not much of an impact, collectors will still pay, poor condition, might see the value decline. When the Tisas stainless steel (which was a desirable modification by many) model came out, it had no impact on Hi Power values. Purists and collectors should remain in the market for the original, and I would think it is a different gun owner going for a new clone than those who purchase original FN/Browning marked Hi Powers. That said, it might push down some values on the rougher surplus High Powers that are selling between $800 and $1000. But a very good condition, Browning marked Hi Power, it may not have much of an impact. It will be interesting to see what happens.

I just now paid for one in full... Kentucky Guns is taking a limited number of back orders, with no expected date of arrival. A woman at Springfield Armory said (this morning)that the first group was shipping on Nov 1.. they are shipping some today.
Now I wait...
Cheers,
Tim

Thanks Tim. great job in tracking one down hope you get it soon. I have had little luck locally here in the DC metro area. I have one gun dealer who is listed on the Springfield Armory website as a dealer, called and they had not heard of it, and said he would look into it and hopefully find one.
Odd that Springfield has done so much pre-release promotions with facebook, website, videos, reviews, guns.com, gunsamerica.com NRA etc (search Springfield ARmory SA-35 and a lot already comes up) and it sounds like many dealers are unaware. Seems like a lot of interest.

That is a good question... At first blush I thought it would drive FN HP prices down... but maybe not... once people get a taste of the new version, they may develop a wish to sample the original... Will be interesting to watch... FWIW Chuck I wonder what this pistol coming into the market will do to the value of original FN/Browning Hi Powers...

I feel that SA will bring out this gun in stainless in the near future. I can only hope that SA also brings out a "Detective Model". If so, my bank account is going to take a hit!!

I hope it comes really soon, too!
My LGS, an SA stocking dealer, was guessing it would take more than six months for them to get something they had not yet heard of and mentioned that Buds and Kentucky Guns always get things first. While adding myself to the NOTIFY list I started an on-line chat with KG, asking for a time frame. She wrote that they were taking a limited number of back orders and all I had to do was call customer service.
What I really wanted was to drive out to SA and hold one! SA said no, they don't do that, but they were already shipping some. No indication of how many and where to. That would have been a great 5 hour road trip!
Anyway... I'll post a note as soon as I get the shipping notice. Pics and stupid thoughts as soon as it arrives.
Sure hope it doesn't take six months.
Cheers,
Tim

Looks to me Springfield was set on making an original classic HP... An ambi safety can be easily enough added... For my part I like the SA 35 from what I have seen so far. FWIW Chuck I might consider a "Detective" model, but no ambi safety??? What were they thinking!

Just did a quick check on Gunbroker for the SA-35. There are now 7 SA-35 auction offerings with current bids ranging from $805 up to $1,325 with closing within a day to 9 days.
There is one BuyNow offering at $1,399.
I also checked the sold auctions, there were three sold lots, each at $1,499, one was a straight BuyNow, the other two were bid on, but with a BuyNow option, of these two, one had 8 bids up to $800 when the BuyNow at $1499 was hit, the other with 12 bids up to $1100 when the $1499 BuyNow was hit.
