Hello everyone!
I've recently bought a HP, and by trying to figure out year of manufacture I discovered this forum. My HP end up being FEG counterfeit FN. At first I was a little bit disappointed because Hungarian and argentinian HP's don't have good reputation in Croatia. Funny thing is, many people own counterfeit FN's without even knowing. I wanted a HP ever since I was a kid when it was introduced to me, because it was quite popular gun in the beginning of the war in 90' Every now and then, there are some for sale on the market, usually with less than 50 rounds shot, ranging from $200-500, so I'm sure I'll get some more 😁
I'll use this opportunity to show my appreciation and say thank you to Laszlo Becz for sharing his research with us, and helping me via privat messages.

Milan Welcome to HPC Milan. Glad you have found our site helpful. Interesting, we are seeing more of the counterfeit High Powers show up and collectors asking about them. Perhaps due to more information and forum postings about what to look for being and discussions on their existence has brought more attention to them. Post some images when you get a chance.

You do need to add more Hi Powers to your collection. In the meantime, while you are searching for a good FN Hi Power to add to your collection, post a few images of your FEG. Make sure you check out our FEG threads. In particular the FEG Factory References and Information thread, highpowercollectors.proboards.com/thread/1013/feg-factory-references-informations It has a wealth of information on frame styles, dates of manufacture and FEG history.

Hello, my name is Dave and I live about 10 miles east of Albuquerque, NM. I am retired from the Albuquerque Police Department and the Army National Guard. I recently acquired a very clean Browning Hi Power in .40 S&W. I already posted about it in another section. I see several names here that I know from other forums. I look forward to learning from you all.

Hello everyone, and thanks for the add. I'm a former Police Officer and a retired federal Agent. Been a life-long gun collector and am an NRA Benefactor member. I teach firearm technology, compliance, and other firearm-related topics through my company, and serve as an expert witness in court cases. Originally from the Chicago area, I live in Florida now. I own 3 Hi-Powers, an FN, an Inglis, and a modern .40 cal. The pistols aren't for sale, but I have other stuff that is once I figure out if thats allowed here and how.

We have a section of the forum for selling items, they do not have to be Hi Power related. Not many restrictions, but just use common sense, our forum statement on selling/trading objects is "A place to list guns and gun related items you want to sale or trade. All governing laws and regulations must be observed." Always nice to have images of member Hi Powers on the site. Nothing like Hi Power porn to keep us going! Link to the sale/trade section of the forum highpowercollectors.proboards.com/board/13/sale-trade

Welcome to the forum... A BHP40 Is a really nice pistol to have... In case you were not aware of it, you can add a 357SIG barrel with on modification at all unless the barrel needs a bit of fitting. There is also a 9mm barrel for the 40BHP as well, but it needs to be one made specially for the BHP40. FWIW Chuck Hello, my name is Dave and I live about 10 miles east of Albuquerque, NM. Thanks for the opportunity to join the forum!
I've been an HP enthusiast for some time. My first was a 69C which I still shoot on occasion. But it was a handful of historic (old?) BHPs that brought me to the forum. I've done a little research (through resources like HPC and books by Clive Law, Blake Stevens, etc.) and now have a new appreciation for the history of these weapons and the 'art' of the collector. I've also learned I'm not a collector, and I don't want these items hidden away for the next 40 years. So, I've started down the RIA path, but I'm not convinced that's the best recourse.
A sample of what I'm working with:
==> Mk I* - BROWNING 9MM FN HP INGLIS CANADA - 500 M Tangent with stock - Serial 3CHxxxx (Aug-Oct 1945)
==> Pre-war FN - Serial xxxx - with the early 500M Tangent, slotted with early lanyard hole, and the early rounded cam slot
==> Serial 6xxxx with Tangent - Waffenamt WaA103 (2nd half of 1941?) slide, frame, barrel, mag
I'm looking for advice - avenues to explore, things to consider.
I also have a few rather intricate, detailed questions to follow-up with.
Thanks again,

Again, images are always helpful. It seems like you have done most of the initial research. I dont know much about Inglis High Powers, so I cant comment or give any advice there. The pre war sounds interesting. Is it a Belgium contract, what are some of the proof and inspector marks, any military acceptance marks. All would help identify what you have. For past sales data, Gunbroker past sales has some information, but it only goes back for the past 90 days in sales. Look for consummated sales, not just Buy Now offerings. Also, search Rock Island Auction for pre war High Powers. Another good auction database site, which includes Rock Island past sales is Proxibid, search for terms like High Power Pre War. Are you thinking of selling, or a better alternative is to add to your collection.

Hey all.
Glad to be here and find this place! Love the HP!
Right now my only HP is an FN in 9mm that I got from CDNN that has the SFS system already installed.
Looking forward to getting another with the traditional SA trigger for carry.

Hello all. New member here. Own an FN Hi-Power, circa 1979. I'm a left-hander and would like to put an ambi safety on it. Understand BHspringsolutions has a kit. I'd appreciate any insights on this. Thanks.

I've just used a couple of standard BHP ambi safeties. They work fine for lefty shooting.
