I have been intending to post pix of my collection of German Falshirmjager (parachutist) gravity knives. My collection has shrunk, because the WWII knives have become to valuable to hang onto - when they reached handgun prices. Enclosing a sale catalogue picture of the most valueable, FIRST style knife, featuring permanently attached captive blade, with riveted nickel silver throat bolster. The Second late style knife looks similar, but has a blued steel bolster that is removable allowing the moving parts to be taken down for cleaning. The post war Bundeswehr Knives were identical to the late wartime knives except for olive plastic handles. This is where my collection now starts, with the 3 types of post war knives. All are interesting, but the early types are heavy & impractical to carry - unless you wear suspenders. ... the BUNDESWHER FALSHIRMJAGER, which is identical to the WWII "takedown" knife - except for the substitution of molded plastic grips. ... One of those lives in my range bag.
