Hello, Over the past year, I have been carrying this Kershaw RJ Martin flip folder. It has literally been with me everyday and has served a "yeoman's job" of performing all of the tasks that it is designed to do. Do you have a favorite? Chris

I have a few quality knives... but truth is I'm not much of a knife guy... maybe knives scare me... I certainly am more afraid of a knife than of a gun...
This I suppose leads to my choice in knives... (Drum Roll please) Since elementary school, I have carried a Swiss Army Knife... Nothing really fancy, usually a Spartan model which is pretty simple... but enough to take care of most anything I need.... I laugh about this now... can you imagine a kid carrying a Swiss Army Knife to school today? Two libertard teachers would wet their pants, the principal (local president of dykes for Hillary) would probably have apoplexy and need medical attention and the police, National Guard and the French Army would be called... Maybe the rioters from Berkley... Times have certainly changed...

Hello Chuck,
Back in 2006 and 2008, I visited Switzerland and one of the first things I would do is go to a local knife shop in Interlaken to pick up a hiking knife. First, they are very multi-purpose and don't take the place of "real" tools, but on hikes they would do a great job of cutting up the bread, cheese and sausage that I would carry with me. Yeah, not very "McGiver" of me, but they would do the job nicely. I still have a few laying around here and they are memento's of my overseas journey there.
Year's ago, my long departed Dad told me "a gentleman always carries a knife" and I suspect that is the reason that I carry them for good reason....

Well since we are talking about the Swiss, I will have to say my Swiss Hawkbill I received from Chris ranks high on my list as favorite knife to carry around. As a matter of fact I am carrying it as we speak. -Vant

My son gave me a Buck his class had their crest engraved on for graduation last year from the USNA. This is my favorite but not for use. My edc is my 7, same thing I gave my son when he graduated NAPS.

Hello Shaun,
I have a ZT knife but haven't carried it in a couple of years. Most of my knives over the years have served "rough duty" that include stripping electrical wire and cutting through even the "tough stuff" like PEX pipe. The ZT is still preserved as mostly a defensive knife for me, but I love the design and the "belly" of the blade....

You are right the SAK does not replace a multi tool... but it is immensely useful on a day to day basis when I don't carry very much. When I was stationed in Europe, the SAK was extremely useful like you said... we would travel on weekends and lunch was usually a loaf of crusty bread and some wurst etc from a grocery store... great lunch... mustard in tubes is handy too. There is not much defensive value to a SAK however... but I don't think it was designed to have that anyway. Chuck sir, Your mention of your lunch is making me "homesick" for CH and hungry at the same time! I bought a couple of SAK when I was there from my favorite "Kiosk" shop in Interlaken... Some I gave away as "gifts" upon coming home to the US. My favorite SAK is a 1947 wood handled knife (Army Issue) given to me from a friend over there... Chris

I'm really partial to Victorinox Swiss Army Knives. My current favorite is the Explorer. It has all the tools I use most often and a couple of extras that are handy when I need them. HRF

Like many of ya'll I've carried/used many of the high end HSLD folders for the usual double super secret ninja strap cutting, target trimming, ammo case opening, paracord parting and lunch slicing duties . Thought about silent sentry removal once, but then I realized...though he was sporting a Keffiyeh and AK, he was OUR sentry . A good guy..........today..........maybe .
About 15 years ago, I searched for a less expensive alternative...based upon the assumption it would eventually end-up in the pocket of some customs dude in another third world sxxxhole . The more I carried/used it every day, the more I liked it so I bought a second and put it in the safe as the eventual replacement. I even lucked into another one at a local gun show that was seriously mismarked $$ wise. Well, 15 years...and untold TSA, Customs, Military and شرطة inspections, later...to say nothing of baggage thieves handlers, the same knife it still clipped in my pocket. I might drop one of my Chris Reeve Sebenzas...likely the small one, in a pocket for a special occasion , but my original Kershaw Blur is my EDC knife.....
Mine has just a tad more character though .....
Oh, Chris Reeve Sebenza...at about 8X the $$, for special occasions ...
