there was an "O" ring discussion a few weeks ago on another forum which drew my attention.I looked back over past posts, and found several members stating that the 1/4" outside diameter and 1/8" inside diameter sized O ring worked well. I searched on Amazon and found a bag of 1000 "O" rings for $10.00. I figured even if they sucked, not a big investment, and easy to replace an used deformed one wit a new one. They fit perfectly (see images, last image of a MKIII stock grip, with O ring installed, so far no issues with grip screw standing proud), but cant comment on the longevity just yet. Link to buy at Amazon www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015O31XP8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Since I have this big bag of O rings I will probably never use, if anyone wants a few to try out, DM me with your address and I will mail you a few, postage on me.

Hello, Todd - Thanks for the tip and the detailed photos. If you find the O-Ring a bit thick when used with Thin Panels, try the 3mm I.D. x 6mm O.D. x .5mm Thick, Red Fiber Insulating Washers that's used in electronics. For 1911 Grip Screws, I use O-Rings that are 3mm I.D. x 1.5mm CS/Thickness (cross-section). Here's an old thread on the Red Fiber Insulating Washers. highpowercollectors.proboards.com/thread/674/grip-screw-washers-hi-power

Thanks for the link, Todd.
I just placed an order simply based on the looks of the ones you posted. The original ones I ordered had a 30% scrap rate due to off centered holes & ruff edges, but for the price it was OK.
Cracked Grip Panels; I do remember Burgs had some split on him, but I don't know what size O-Ring he was using. If the counter-bore in the grip panels is close or shallow, then it'd be best to use a 3mm I.D. x 1mm Thick O-Ring - I actually tried those but settled on the fiber washer due to its thinner, .5mm thickness.

Out of curiousity, what's the advantage of using o-rings or fiber washers on grip screws?
Thanks, -Phil

Out of curiousity, what's the advantage of using o-rings or fiber washers on grip screws? Thanks, -Phil Mostly to stop the grips screws from loosening and backing out and having the grips then shift or move. I still have plenty of both types of "O" rings, so my offer to share still stands to HPC members. If you want some, just DM me with your address. Todd
