I recently bought a 1976 BHP. It's nice to shoot but at my age sight visibility is something that is important to me in order to shoot well. This gun has a fixed front sight- semi-circle in profile (Hump and Bump military sights). I am not looking to machine for a new sight. What have people done to successfully paint the front sight? Would you paint the entire edge front to back, or just the back half?
What type of paint works best?
I may get the gun Cerakoted. I could have the sight Cerakoted white. Good option?

I have been having to highlight my sights for more years than I care to admit to. Many years ago I found a product called Bright Sights. It comes in five(5) different colors. It is easy to install, and easy to remove, but stays put very well. Find the color that YOUR eyes see the best. For me, it is the Intl. Yellow.

Can you post a photo of this on a Hi-Power?

If you do decide to use paint, I suggest that you first use an undercoat of white, then paint the orange or yellow or whatever color you decide over that. That will make the final color so much brighter. And when I do it, I just paint the rear-facing surface, and that only so far down as is visible through the rear sight notch.
