Greetings from Chicago!
I can get you started... It was made in 1988 (PP). It's probably a civilian model as it's marked for the US market as a Browning.

First, welcome to the High Power board. We are happy you have joined us.
As you has already been posted your HP 245PP5605x was made in 1988. It was made for the North American commercial market, which is why it is marked "Browning" rather than FN.
Unfortunately the photos are too dark to say with certainty, but I think is see the rib under the dust cover, which would confirm the pistol is a Mk II.
That a Browning marked HP (rather than FN) wound up in a Swiss store is interesting, particular one over 30 years old... it might have been imported by an individual and later re-sold.
In any case, you have a now discontinued pistol that represented a the kind of fine hand craftsmen ship from years gone by. In today's world of plastic and spray on finish the HP became too expensive to sell in the commercial market and the military markets have moved to plastic as well.
Hope that helps
Chuck

Beautiful pistol and condition, you in fact have a pistol intended for the North American market due to it’s markings, it also is a pistol with the firing pin block safety to lock the pin from moving forward unless the trigger is fully depressed. Not a good or bad feature in my opinion but I favor keeping the design as simple as possible.

You are most welcome... glad I could be of some help. Those of us on this board try to be of help as much as we are able. That is a fine looking HP and in really nice condition. With the trigger interlock removed, it should have a good trigger as well.. As a matter of information (in case you don't already know) Mec-Gar has been making a flush mount 15 round magazine for the HP for some time. With these magazines your HP is fully competitive with the much vaunted glock 19 (and in my opinion a much classier gun.} You have one of the finest pistols every made (perhaps not quite up to the SIG M49/P210 but close... Very close) and one made at the peak of HP quality. It should give you a lifetime of service. Oh, BTW that is one of the cleanest pistols I have ever seen too... V/r Chuck
