Welcome to the forum, when you post your photos make sure the markings on the left side are clearly shown....from this much can be made known...also if a tangent sight a side view showing the milled ramp on the slide is important.

I'll include the pics you request. On the first link I attached the proof marks can be seen, I'll add a few more

Now... I'm just reading from a book, the R Blake Stevens one. I don't yet know much about the pre-war High Power.
The sights appear to be the early version of the 500 meter sight. The barrel seems to be of late pre-war production, introduced around serial number 36,000.
Can you show us the other side? Wondering what the serial number is and if barrel/slide/frame are all the same.
Nice pics!

I've been doing research on it for a while, and I believe it to be circa 1937 not later than mid 1938

The slide obviously has been refinished, it carries Belgian army acceptance marks, the barrel is a later replacement. The sight is an early version, a side view showing the milling for elevation will tell if the pistol was issued with a stock or not. Serial in the 11000 range would be 1935 or 36.

The barrel is post war, the cut out for locking lug is the newer type.
FWIW

It is my understanding that some came out of the factory in Nickel and some in Chrome, I've always assumed it was original finish, the bottom of the magazine is also the same finish. I've always known it as it currently presents. It was my Father's, so it is family heirloom. I've attached the pic you requested below and in the pics on the initial post. Thanks for your reply Tangent Sight Side View

The finish on the slide is not original, the pistol was originally shipped to the Belgian Army and would have sported a rust blue, the rear sight is milled for use with a shoulder stock and would have been issued with a board stock/holster.

Thanks for your comments. Summarizing.... 1.- We agree markings are correct and they point along with the serial number to a 35 or 36 production 2.- Barrel is not original (We knew That) 3.- Finish is not original (Its been like that for 50+ years and it was the way my father had it, so it will stay like that. It was already on that finish when he got it) 4.- It has the correct tangent sights 5.- It was designed and issued with a board stock, I saw one for auction somewhere, I may buy one just for it to make a complete set, they are not cheap. One last question: The grip insert on the back of the gun, where the stock attaches.... How you remove that? See picture below. Back View
