Now a nice Cerakote finish and she will shine like new. I also add Hogue Goncalo Alves grips and by your photo you are already familiar with them.

In my mind, there nothing wrong with a pistol that shows honest wear... finish wear such as you have doesn't really worry me... is shows your pistol earned it's keep. I will usually upgrade the grips to something new, but try to keep in mind that if the grips are greatly better than the gun it's self it can look odd.., Here is one of my surplus guns I have hand 8-9 years, along with another I have had a lot longer... To me the after market grips look nice on the dark finish on the gun... FWIW Chuck

This particular Hi Power is going to be a shooter, so I'm not too concerned with the appearance. Internally this pistol does not look like it has been fired much. Regardless, I have a lot of spare parts that have accumulated over the years and so far have made the following changes;
- Removed mag safety and installed 2- coil trigger spring - Replaced all other springs with a kit from BH Springs - Installed EGW hard sear and C&S thumb safety - Installed "Uncle Mikes" rubber grips
At the range it ate 100 rounds of factory ammo and reloads without any issues, so all is good!
