Anyone here have experience running 9mm 147 gr. flat-nose ammo or any other kind of 9mm flat-nose ammo? I am thinking of ordering some Magtech. Unfortunately, there is none available on the shelves in my area to test before making a special order. www.luckygunner.com/9mm-147-grain-fmc-magtech-50-roundThanks.

(Raises hand)
Yes. In fact my favourite load was a 124 or 125 gr (flat nose) Truncated Cone bullet that Hornady used to make. It was a great bullet for the range and simulated the factory JHP load I carried. It fed reliably and consistently. Regrettably, Hornady dropped it from production some years ago.

I've been shooting Winchester 147gr flat nose for years with no problems. They feed and function as well as Golden Saber 147 gr hollow-point, which is my favorite SD load for my '89 pistol. This pistol does have the Novak Special Ops package, performed by Wickmann many years ago, but they also work in any other pistol I've run them in.

I have 8 HPs, including some with old "humped" feed ramps, and I have never had a chamber/barrel/bullet misfeed with any of them.

An excellent source for range bullets is Xtreme Bullets... www.xtremebullets.com/Copper-Plated-Bullets-s/2897.htm The copper plated bullets are no more expensive than cast lead alloy and often cheaper... they don't dirty the barrel nearly as much as cast bullets and are quite accurate for me...
