Was there ever a nickel platen FN high power from the factory?

Reading through the thread, I believe the answer is yes.

Yes, it was available. I'll list below all the finishes that was available going by the FN Factory Chart that's shown on Page 223 in R. Blake Stevens' book, The Browning High Power Automatic Pistol.
The number indicates specified finish.
0 Gold 1 Phosphate 2 "Old Silver" 3 Standard Blue 4 Sandblast/Blue 5 Matt Chrome 6 Nickel 7 Brilliant Chrome 8 Black Anodized (alloy frames)

More on finishes. Quote: The black paint found on some High Power pistols originated from a French request in 1929-1930. This request was, ironically, not tied to the development of the High Power for the French military, which was ultimately never adopted. It was instead requested for the FN Model 1922 for use by the French Navy. FN developed a corrosion-resistant finish by applying black enamel paint over a phosphate base finish.
