I still haven't shot the P220. But have been practicing unloaded handling. I like the hammer drop safety as it is a 220-1. I don't remember the 220 I borrowed from a friend at an IDPA shoot about 20 years ago except I wanted to own one just like it after that. It seemed to shoot smoother than my 45 acp Springfield 1911A1 in stainless. Will have to get out and shoot some Browning HPs and the 220 before the week ends. Maybe the unseasonal monsoons will quit long enough. Be Well, Bandito. ::: A Post Script here. I now have a couple of 20 rounders coming from a new friend in CO. AND some of those 32 rounders are here. Only for a lark, but could be sold for lots under darker circumstances. Not sure I will ever load one. But the 20s will be carried and shot a bit. Will use them for reloads and keep 13 rounders in the gun. Originals. Thanks and Be Well, Bandito.

I picked up two NOS Mec-Gar 20 rounders about two years ago. I think I used one once, and while it functioned fine, I just didn't care for the extra size and weight at the range. So, my 20 rounders are collecting dust in my spare mag storage drawer. For the range, the 13 rounders work just right for me.

I have a West German Sig P-220 in .45. It was my first carry gun for the first 5 years. Probably the gun I shoot the best next to my High Powers.

220 sure feels good in my pocket. Haven't picked up a holster specifically for it yet. Be Well, Bandito

My two 20 round mags are unmarked as to makerand quite honestly remain in my magazine box while 13 and 15 round mags that fit properly Without the extension beyond the bottom of the frame are used daily. Besides the pistol goes from an excellent natural pointer to heavy and unwieldy witH the addition of a loaded twenty round mag.

I have a few 20round Mec-Gar mags for the BHP and as others note, they work find... I don't care for them a lot being rather awkward to use.

I personally have never used the extended BHP magazines. They are fun toys for the range, and have a role for home defence in home invasion, high-risk areas. But, they aren't something the average person would carry for everyday concealed carry. That's just my opinion of course.
That said, a now deceased mate of mine who served on a covert Ops team in Northern Ireland used the FN version as spare magazines for his 'car gun' in case he got caught up in an IRA road block.

14 Co? They're the only ones I've ever heard about using 20 rounders for their car gun spares.

So a 20 round magazine was known to be used for practical purposes. Wonder if it would be good to have a couple 20 rounders and a 32 loaded while travelling? Only in certain states. Be Well, Bandito.

I recently picked up a U.S. made P210... to my surprise it is every bit as well built as the Swiss version... and it fixes my only two complaints about the Swiss P210... the nearly non-functional thumb safety that always puts a mark on the finish and the butt mag release... Here are some pix of the new 210 The real plus it shoots like a champ... The target was shot at 15 yds with five shots... FWIW Chuck

The Sig P210 is on my short list. I prefer the looks of the original, but I will probably stick to buying a new gun rather than used. Congrats on yours, Chuck.

The 210 is a 9MM? It has always looked good but spendy. Be Well, Bandito.

The 210 is a 9MM? It has always looked good but spendy. Be Well, Bandito. Spendy? Maybe. But, when it's gone, we will all kick ourselves and moan about what a bargain it was. Or maybe I'm just feeling a little grouchy today.
