youtu.be/QAkQaVoXx2sThe above link should bring you to a youtube video of Mark Allen demonstrating the new BHSpringSolutions barrel for the Hi-Power. Question: Is this the correct way to fit a Hi-Power barrel? Are there any other considerations when fitting a Hi-Power barrel? Thanks.

It makes sense to me that you want as little play as possible. Mark sent that barrel (or the other one) to me to check fit in my FEG. I did the same fit test in most of my High Powers with very similar results... in my FN guns with a lower round count, there was virtually no movement. In two guns (FEG & 1943) there was more movement than the others... in each case the new barrel "fit" better than the old. All much like the video I took the barrel and several guns to the range. The Tisas and both FNs ('81, '02) shot really well. The barrel was truly drop-in. The FEG also shot really well but after 150 rounds it was quite hot and it was difficult to remove the slide. My FEG barrel has different dimensions than any of my other barrels. It's a bit thinner... so the new BHSS barrel or any others would need to be fitted to "my FEG" by removing some material. It was absolutely beautiful. Finished better than my '02 FN barrel. And one piece.

Where is there a video on actual fitting of a barrel in the HP? I have a Brownell's and it doesn't drop all the way into the slide. I think it won't require much. I am guessing you stone the locking surfaces on the barrel and not the slide. TIA. Bandito

The method to fit barrels is the same from pistol to pistol for the most part... any of the 1911 videos should give the information to successfully fit one in a high power.
FWIW
