Gentlemen, I came across this offer to sell a Hi Power that is advertised as being one of a 100 pistol run specially done for a Browning Collectors Association, in 1980. I'm not sure if this is a mark I, or mark II. Clearly the magazine I would guess is not from 1980? Any other comments on this particular pistol or this 1980 limited run would be appreciated. The pistol has quite a premium price

I am not familiar with that particular gun, but the magazine is from the time of the Hillary bad on high cap magazines and is a 10rd mag... made by Mec-Gar.
Hope that is of help.

I have no knowledge of these "collector series BHP"....sorry. It does appear to be a "C" series HP in excellent condition, and they do bring a premium, just like the "T" series HPs.

You might try giving Browning Customer service a call... they might have info on it.

Try Lenny Reese (Browning Historian - 800-782-4440 x3280) to confirm details. I have never seen a S/N configured like that. Is there any paperwork supporting its provenance?

There is no such thing as a Mk I, FN did designate MkII and MkIII as a production series but not Mk I. I cannot make out a serial number although one of the responders made reference to it, the number can tell wonders about a firearm.
Brought the photos up on my laptop where I could read the serial number, strictly Browning marked and not FN, my Captain is marked in a similar fashion.

Nice looking pistol, and interesting odd serial, but as above.....never heard of the special "Browning Collectors" edition. Is/Was there such an organization?
