The 1911-guns were introduced over in that thread. The .44 Special is one of my very favorite handgun cartridges. Thanks to Chuck for the Triple Lock. Model 1917s .45s, Colt and Smith & Wesson Colt Model 1909 .45 Colt Smith & Wesson Model 57 .41 Magnum Weird, wacky, and wonderful revolvers chambered for cartridges that start with "4". .41 Long Colts, a 1925 Colt Army Special ... ... and a 1901 Colt New Navy Webley Mark IV .455 Colt Single Action Army .38 WCF (.38-40 - bullet manages to stagger over the "4" line at .401" in diameter)

I agree that the 38-40 should be incorporated into this thread. It is one of my favorite big bore calibers, and I shoot one often. i have gathered a few guns in this caliber over the years. Nice gathering ^^^^^^ of shootin' irons!!
