Hello, Over the years, I've owned several S&W Model 10's. They tend to "come and go" in my collection. However, last week I went down to the local gun shop to repair a customer's Uberti 1873 Cowboy for the owner. It was a pretty simple fix. The sear/bolt spring was broken and I ordered a new one from W.C. Wolff Co. to replace the broken one. However, I digress. While in the store, I spotted a S&W Model 10-10 sitting in the display case. Rather than presenting a bill for my time, I asked the owner to put whatever he felt he owed me towards the Model 10. Mechanically, it is in excellent shape. Cosmetically, I have seen "worse". So, it will reside there in the shop until I get there with the balance on the 'Smith. Since the LGS's "bread and butter" business is selling the new fantastic plastic pistols. I honestly felt I was doing the owner a favor by taking it off of his hands. Chris

Isn't it amazing how we "gun folks" can rationalize things in order to acquire a gun that we desire.....LOL!!!

That is a nice catch... the old S&Ws are essentially hand made and really works of art in metal... at least to me.

Hello, Here's a better picture. There was a lanyard hole (threaded) in the bottom of the grip frame that I "plugged" with a 10/32 plug screw that I had on hand. I did a little "cold blue" touch up on the wear areas. (It probably won't last, but it does improve the overall appearance of the revolver. This revolver will be a "shooter" and not a "safe queen" for obvious reasons. I really like the older HB 'Smiths. Reminds me of my childhood in DC where most of the Metro Police Officers carried them. Chris

I was at one of the local "toy stores" recently, and they had several Model 64s. This one, a 64-8 from 2014, is LNIB. I doubt that it had been fired outside of the factory, and it certainly wasn't carried much, if any. It now joins it's older sister, a 64 no dash.

Hello,
The more I "work" on the Model 10 the more I appreciate it. I have touched up some of the wear spots with Cold Blue and have plans to replace any "buggered" screws (or repair them) on the revolver. I ordered a Hunter 1100-30 belt holster for it and it fits very nicely. I like adopting (buying) these revolvers... I am a fan boy of Model 10's for sure!
