Ya, our guns get wet regularly, lots of time in boats or near water. It surprised me with the FNP, it was the first week I had it. I put it away with just a wipe down each day planning on a cleaning at the end of the week.
FN was great at offering to take it in for repair work, but did not have replacement parts in stock for a long time.
Not wanting to give up the gun, I cleaned up the parts the best I could and coated them with tetra lube and made sure to pay attention to them. That worked fine.
I gave up trying to get parts from FN and after a while and wound up getting spares from MGW.
Not to say the gun did not perform well, it was totally reliable. And certainly more rust resistant than our departmentally owned guns. Just that I replaced my steel framed 75b wanting something lighter that performed as well in .40 and didn’t expect the FN to need more TLC than the CZ.
