Hi all! Here's the latest video hot off the camera! I hope you all enjoy watching this one as much as I enjoyed making it. If you ever wondered how the M1 would fare in a CQB roll, this video attempts to answer the question. Keeping in mind, many of our grandfathers used the M1 in close-range, house to house applications, I was eager to see how it would do on a tactical carbine course. Take a look, and let me know your thoughts!

Good video, Howard. To the point. Maybe a little thin on plot, but I guess they can't all be Gone With the Wind.

VERY nice video... the old M1 performed as expected... the M1 is still a LOT of fire power!!
One comment... when you talked about weight you didn't mention the fact the Army has hung so much junk on their M16/M4s they now weigh essentially the same as an M1 or M14.
If you are taking requests how about shooting the same course with your M14/M1A ... I bet it would really do the job.
Thanks for sharing...

Good point about all the adornments to the M16/M4 and their additional weight. You are the second person to request the M14 be tested on the same course of fire. I was actually contemplating that same thing, so stay tuned and that one may materialize in the future! Howard

Nice job H. The fact the M1 came through nicely is no surprise. The course of fire wasn’t too demanding, I think you could’ve done 90% of it with a bolt gun. (:

I’ve never been impressed with that course of fire. Still, as I said in the opening, the time limits for some of the stages presented a little bit of a challenge. I was somewhat surprised I got all the shots off within the allotted times, particularly the reloading stage. Just think how well I might do if I actually practiced! Howard
