Hi all,
I wanted to see if people had some good book recommendations. My initial selfish interest is that I’d like to find something interesting/neat/cool for my nephew for Christmas. But thought this might be fun for us all...
To get us started, he has been shooting family HPs, Garands, a Swiss K31, Sigs and 1911’s for a while. Recently he got a 1911 as a graduation present.
Books I have got him in the past that he likes:
Ars Mechanica The Ultimate FN Book (Auguste Francotte)
FN Browning Pistols (Anthony Vanderlinden)
The Gun Digest Book of the 1911 Vol 1 & 2 (Patrick Sweeney)
There are some books I think are fun that we have passed around that he has enjoyed like:
American Gun (Chris Kyle)
Practical Shooting (Brian Enos)
He also has a bunch of technical handloading books.
Any fun, interesting, nice, weird, or otherwise historical books people would like to share would be greatly appreciated!

Have you considered getting him a collection of small books by the likes of Applegate, Cooper, Fairbairn, and the likes? Their writings are as relevant today as they were when they wrote them.

Thank you! I do keep eyes open for Cooper, and will watch for the others.
I’m sure he is getting a full dose of Gun Gen 2.0 literature, would definitely prefer to get some older works on fundamentals, especially any good, classic hardcovers he can keep and enjoy. I did get him a couple ALA Himmelwright reprints.
Thanks!

Anything by Elmer Keith... most are out of print now but you can find most of them on ABE.com and generally at good prices.
Keith's books are full of information and a fun read too.
Another good choice are Skeeter Skelton's books... fun, informative and humorous.
FWIW
