Hey Fellas! I'm really interested to hear your opinions on this one!
Howard
P.S. I wasn't sure whether to put this one in the 1911 section or the S&W revolver section!

Hello Howard,
Another excellent video that I am most certain will bring about some comments from your other viewers. However, I found it nicely well thought out and detailed enough of a comparison.

I once owned a S&W model 1917, that used 45 ACP in Circlips, as did my Webley Mk IV. They were a couple of favorite revolvers. I should have kept. That 625 is heavy & chunky for me, My 1911s win hands down: Both of mine do well with 10 round magazines. The 1911's are sleeker, lighter, & easier to conceal. They do not need to be manually cocked for a steady aimed single action shot. They can be fired faster - more accurately, + are faster to reload. All endearing factors.

I like both guns... the 1911 speaks for it's self... Some 20 or so years ago I bought a S&W M625 5" barrel. I got it to use in IDPA revolver class... then the knuckle heads (see how polite I can be... ) changed the rules to a 4" max barrel length for revolvers... they thought no one could carry a 5" revolver (thought it was probably the most popular barrel length for like 90+ years...) That was the straw that broke the camel's back and I gave IDPA to the gamers. The 625 however was still a very nice gun, accurate and reliable... and with moon clips it can be reloaded very rapidly... always a plus. I'd say the 1911 and SAW 625 are pretty much equal overall... so I think I need both of them. V/r Chuck

Great video, thanks for sharing! The 625 always catches my eye, but I never know what I’d do with it (always want but never need). Thanks for letting those of us live vicariously! Chris
