I just noticed a box for a S&W Registered Magnum sold... for $701!!! Now that is not the real news here... the real news is $701 for a Registered Magnum box is a steal!!! One sold a few years ago for over $3,500!!! Though this was an unusual deal because the guy who paid the price for it owned the gun that originally came in the box!! www.ebay.com/itm/292241698740?ul_noapp=true I suppose I should have tried to buy it... somehow I could not manage to push the button for a $701 box... Sadly... I suppose... FWIW Chuck

Some aspects of gun collecting just escape me. Now, if I owned THE gun that the box was for, maybe I would be tempted.....but if not, then no way would I spend that amount for a non-matching box. My frugal characteristics kick in from time to time......just not often enough when other things are for sale.

A S&W Registered Magnum box sold a few years ago for over $3,500!!!! The reason for the high price turned out to be the fact the winner of the auction owned the RM that originally came in the box... of course having the box would considerably increase the value of the gun... but that still seemed to be a lot of money for that box... I'd like to have the boxes for my RMs... but I have to make do with generic boxes... at those prices I'll continue to stick with generic boxes.
