Anyone get a new Victory and have issues with hitting the center of the target? My new pistol was shooting high and to the right. I tried to adjust and cannot seem to get on target. I am shooting at 25 yards using a sandbag to support the barrel. I followed standard adjustment procedures in the manual and still have issues. My wife and I both shot and were consistently off target. We both squeezed the trigger slowly and kept the same sight picture.
I have had a number of new guns and never had this issue. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

With the move from revolvers over the years, we have tended to forget things shooters knew when revolvers were 'de regiur.'
The S&W M&P 38 revolvers were regulated for two different loads... the 'standard' 38 158gr Lead RN bullet and for the 148gr full wad cutter.
Because of the differences in bullet weight the two loads had different points of impact. Shooters simply used different sight holds on the target to compensate... Heavier bullets shoot lower than lighter bullets... so the gun would place the 158gr LRN bullet in the bulls eye with a center hold... whilst the 148gr WC bullet required a target (i.e. 6 o'clock) hold. With the 6 0'clock hold the WC loads would hit the center bull.
I have quite a few S&W 38spl K frame M&P revolvers (they also made a 'N' frame M&P as well.) I have never found one that needed the sights adjusted... The S&W revolvers are remarkably consistent in being accurate shooters.
When I start having accuracy problem I shoot one of the 'diagnostic' target to see what I am doing wrong. This has always told me what I was doing wrong... and helped me fix the problem.
The only way to adjust the S&W fixed sight revolvers for windage is to rotate the barrel... not something that is user adjustable...
You don't say how much to the right your guns shoot... that would be helpful in doing remote diagnosis.
Hopefully this will help you.

Chuck,
I am pretty sure that the OP is talking about his NEW S&W Victory .22cal auto., not the old WWll S&W Victory revolvers. Just a thought. I can't help the OP, as I don't own one of these .22s.

Hello,
Yes, I think Astronaut is referring to the "new" SW-22 Victory semi-auto pistol. My advise to Astronaut is to contact S&W customer service and get some help. They are great folks. Barring that he can't get the sights properly regulated, than I would suggest that he get a RMA and ship it back to them with a letter indicating what the problem is with the Victory.
Oddly, I got a call from my Brother in VA. who was in a conversation with a customer about the Victory and similar problems with cleaning, reassembly and function. I've owned one and it employs a unique system that "marries" the barrel to the frame using a screw that is under the bottom of the receiver. I suspect that the barrel is "out of spec" or that the drift adjustable sights are not properly regulated.
Its tough to diagnose these problems from afar as all of us well know, but I think S&W customer service can help out a lot in this case!

I appreciate the comments. I plan to go to the range later today to again try and adjust the sights. If I have no luck, I will be contacting S&W and will advise either way.
Thanks!

S&W has a reputation (well earned I might add) for great customer service... If there is a problem with the gun, I'm sure they will fix it... they even pay shipping both ways. FWIW CHuck I appreciate the comments. I plan to go to the range later today to again try and adjust the sights. If I have no luck, I will be contacting S&W and will advise either way. Thanks!
