Hi all,
Looking for some factory mags for a Sig 225.
All the reliable spots I know of are outta stock...
Thanks!

Have you tried SIG? They had some last time I asked?
Other choice would be Top Gun Supply

Guess I should never overlook the obvious, I'll try Sig a little later this morning. Top Gun is out (or at least they were yesterday). Thanks, Chris

Ya... I can't do anything normal...
I got a P225 with the heel release so the promags won't fit...
But the gun has been to Sig for the SRT and action enhancement, and is really a great 26oz 9mm. A perfect backcountry auto, especially with the heel release.
Just need to stock up on the old school mags...

Has ProMag changed their mags? I bought some ProMag mags a few years ago and they worked ok... FWIW Chuck Ya... I can't do anything normal... FWIW Chuck I can't say that I have ever tried one, and I may get one as a last resort, but I have read that they do not work with the P225's that have the mag release on the heel rather than by the trigger because of the plastic base pad.

Odd, My Sig 225 P-6 has a thumb mag release. it was made in 1979 & is stamped P6 forward of the ejection port. It also has the hook style spur hammer, common on the ex -German Police guns. Since yours doesn't appear to have the P6 stamp, & is just stamped Sig 225, suggest you just hunt Sig 225 mags, as P6 mags will have a slot for the thumb release, & may be different - possibly easier to find - just guessing. Good luck

If memory serves me, a batch of Swiss Police P225 pistols were imported with European mag releases... though I don't recall any P6 versions... but at least that style exists in some quantity. I believe Top Gun Supply was the importer... might be worth calling them... they may be able to direct you to a source. V/r Chuck Ya... I can't do anything normal... If memory serves me, a batch of Swiss Police P226 pistols were imported with European mag releases... though I don't recall any P6 versions... but at least that style exists in some quantity. I believe Top Gun Supply was the importer... might be worth calling them... they may be able to direct you to a source. V/r Chuck Yep, Swiss police markings are on the other side. I had a West German trade in p6 and the only real differences were the mag release, hammer, barrel and sights. The P6 mags work very nicely in this trade in 225, but commercial 225 mags I have tried do not. I like the heel release as I have had mags pop out in the field.

In the last few days, there was a fella over on the Sig Forum classified that had some P-6 mags for sale. I have no idea if they are still available....just a thought.

Just a thought. Pachmyar makes a wrap around rubber "signature"grip for the Sig 225, that I found to be an excellent grip & recoil improvement.

I forgot about those, nice and at a decent price too. This is one of those gins that has really grown on me, but also makes me realize how much I like staggered/double stack guns.

I have gotten very attached to mine as well, & like the DA/SA system.

For those who like the P225/P6 but want more capacity there is such a gun... called the P228. Basically a 13 rd (or 15 with the MecGar mag) version of the P225. If you have never shot a P228 it is worth trying...
