I've mentioned what an old stick in the mud I am when it comes to carry pistols, using only one almost exclusively, and here it is. This is a Turkish copy of the CZ 75 made by Canik55 and imported by TriStar Arms. It goes by the Model Number L-120. I carried the all-steel 1911, BHP, CZ 75 .40, and 9mm CZ 85B for years, but weight became an issue so I converted to this gun because it has an aluminum frame. It's a very well made, smooth, accurate, and reliable eighteenshooter that uses any magazine the CZ 75B/85B pistols will use. It comes from the factory with three MecGar magazines. These guns have triggers that are every bit as good as the CZ pistols, and may even be a little better in fact. I paid $365 for it at Buds. I'm sorry to say the L-120 with the aluminum frame is no longer offered, but the steel framed versions are still being made and are plentiful. This pistol is wearing a pair of factory CZ 75B grips. The pistol also came with the older CZ "long-reach" trigger, which I replaced with a CZ 85 Combat trigger modified to fit the Canik pistols and marketed by Cajun Gun Works. I left the over travel screw out of the trigger.
This is the compact version of the pistol above, called the TriStar C-100. It's a sixteenshooter. It too has an aluminum frame and is in plentiful supply. I will occasionally carry this one around the house and out in the garage, but seldom leave the house with it. It too is a very accurate and reliable pistol. It came with three MecGar TriStar 15 round 9mm magazines and will readily accept either MecGar or CZ factory mags made for the CZ 75 Compact. This one still has the "long reach" trigger in it. I paid $365 for it at Bud's also.
This photo gives some idea of the size of these pistols compared to a FEG Hi Power pistol. (PJK-9HP). You can prolly tell that the L-120 is a bit bulkier and larger than the HP, but its ergonomics are perfect for me. Arthritis and nerve damage have changed my hands now so that I can no longer smoothly swipe the safety off on the BHP, so I use the DA/SA trigger stytem, which the L-120 and C-100 both have. I should also mention that these pistols have a sear-blocking, non-decocking safety that CAN be set with the hammer fully down.
Sorry for the poor lighting.
