With the apparent discontinuation of the High Power by FN and Browning saying no new guns will be coming it might be a good time to buy some high mortality parts so as to be able to maintain your existing HPs.
I'm certainly going to buy some pins, extractors, ejectors etc.....

I have to wonder how long Browning will continue to support our commercial BHP with parts. I feel sure that Wolff Springs, Slav, and other aftermarket part producers will be around for the foreseeable future. Over the years, I have accumulated a small group of parts for my HPs, just to have them at the ready.

The FTC has (had?) a rule that a company had to support a product for seven years after the last sale of the product. I don't know if that is still the rule or not... I hope it is... but I'm not holding my breath... On the plus side other than the extractor not very much else fails very often... For that matter the extractor doesn't fail often either, but I do want some spare pins. FWIW CHuck I have to wonder how long Browning will continue to support our commercial BHP with parts. FWIW:
Browning/Winchester has brought back some parts support which was formerly not available on some discontinued products. My particular example is a Winchester shotgun. Others may have a discontinued Browning or Winchester firearm and may be able or already have benefitted from this.
As a consumer knowing how much it would cost to assemble a Hi Power from parts; it makes dollars and cents to continue to offer parts support. We will see!

Good question... Why not pose the question to the members as a new post? Might get some really good information that way??? (rather than my individual opinion.) One way to make sure that a part never breaks is to have a spare.
I imagine that I will be able to get any part that I need for as long as I am around. I can still get Garand parts, and they haven't made them for 60 years. If needed, I could still get any part for my '06 Winchester.

One way to make sure that a part never breaks is to have a spare. [ This is very true in my experience. There was a time when I had enough spare bhp parts to build complete guns. I have never broken anything. I would want to have a spare unfitted safety. In the event of a new tool steel sear it may be needed.

"...enough spare bhp parts to build complete guns ..." Hmm. I wonder. If I wanted a new Browning Hi-Power badly enough, would I ... ?
