Yesterday I stopped over at Camp Perry during the National Matches. As always I like to see what vendors row was offering this year. The same usual company's were present: Springfield Armory, Armalite, Rock River Arms, Fulton Armory, Inland Manufacturing and a few specialty item vendors. Main items offered were service rifle connected and some handguns. Parts galore. Some good prices, and some not so good prices just depending on who you were talking to. Sherluck Marketing had there usual AR15 items and a ton of retro M16 furniture. Prices were marked to sell. Also stopped over at the CMP North store. Some very nice Service Grade Winchester and IHC with tight chambers and muzzles. Tempting, but I have my slew of H&R's and happy at that.
I ended up buying some match grade .22LR Federal ammo for .06 cents a round, a Tetra brass cleaning tip for patches, and a M16 slick side upper for $35! Fulton Armory had 4-5 M16 slick side blem uppers. All had the split A (Anchor-Harvey) marking and a couple with the Colt C. One even looked like the Colt C was removed. All were brand new unissued with some dings and blemed finishes. One upper the ejection port door rod holes were not even drilled. I chose a Anchor-Harvey marked upper with a odd A-3 marking over the ejection port opening? Never saw that before. But hey, for $35 I should of bought them all which I didn't. Not sure what I'm going to do with this upper, but will have a project in the works soon I'm sure.
No sighting of HRFunk.

Sorry! I was out on the range shooting until 3:30 the past two days. I wish I'd seen you to say hi. I'm not shooting on Thursday (that's my day to go shopping on commercial row!). If you're not busy that day, perhaps we can get together for lunch.

Wags: Thanks for taking the rest of us to Camp Perry OH. Your welcome. I forgot to mention Bushmaster also had a building rented on Commercial Row with AR items. Not as busy as last year since High Power rifle is being held in Indiana. Politics of course, but will be back next year at Camp Perry where it belongs.

But, did he buy enough AR uppers for all of us? I wish I could of sistema1927! Plenty for all..... Yesterday I removed the A-3 die forge code mark on my new acquired upper. Then took it to a local firearms manufacturing company for refinishing. The final product will be a retro USAF GUU-5/P carbine. I have all the proper retro parts on hand. Lower receiver will be a NoDak Spud M16A1.
Also, going to have lunch today with Mr. Funk. It's always nice to meet forum members who come to Camp Perry for the National Matches. Last year it was OIF2 (Bob) from Texas who I met on the 1911forum years ago. I bet this year he'll be in Indiana instead for High Power Rifle. Always next year.
www.retroblackrifle.com/ (The GUU-5/P will be located under Military Carbines. Then look under USAF Carbine Guide. It can be confusing I know.)
