Nobody has posted a thread in this section, so I will kick it off.
I encountered the Aguila Mini Shells when they first became available. Kind of neat, but they don't work in many guns. I have an old Winchester 1300 Defender, and they seem to cycle fine in it. Of course they also work in break action guns, and I have a light weight coach gun and have sometimes kept it stoked with them for the wife to use for home defense. I hear that the Mossberg guns work with the Opsol adapter, and have wondered if they would be reliable in a a Shockwave. If so, then it might make that weapon more manageable.
Anybody else have experience with these shells? In what guns have they worked/not worked for you?

The Aguila 1-3/4" shells won't work in my Benelli M3, double feed. They work fine in my Stevens 320. The 2-1/4" mini shells by another company will work in the M3, at least when it is set up in pump action. Haven't tried them in semi.

When the Aquila 'mini' 12 ga shells came out I thought they were a great idea... so I bought some to try them...
They came with a paper inserted in each box saying they "may" not work in all semi or pump shotguns... they said they would work in Winchesters others... but other brands? Well 'rotsa ruck GI.' I found out in short order they did not work reliably in my Remington 870s, nor my Mossburg... they did work just fine in doubles... this of course seemed to me to defeat the whole purpose of a shorter shell... i.e. increased capacity...
The mini shells would feed maybe half the time in the 870s... and less in the Mossberg.
I always found this disappointing because of the potential for increased capacity... Apparently Aguila never tried to improve the performance...
FWIW

I was given one of the shells just to examine. I would not have an expectation they would work in anything other than a breech loaded shotgun. If they work in any repeater it is truly with lots of luck.

They work in my Winchester 1300. Well, they work about 98% of the time. That's neat for "plinking," not enough for personal defense.

I bought some of the mini-slugs when they first came out. No joy in an 870 or an Ithaca 37.

Oh OK! :-) I looked at the Aguila website and only saw 7.5s listed for the mini shells. Maybe mini slugs went the way of the dinosaur. :-)
