I was just pursuing another forum and noticed a "Sticky" admonishing members for posting links to videos on Youtube and other internet sites. I am most certainly one of the offenders, although I try to post other content from time to time. I have also posted links to my videos here, and I just wanted to make sure it's OK to continue doing so. Typically, I try to post the link under whatever sub-forum seems most appropriate, and I where I think the content might find the most folks who are interested in watching it. I also respond to comments, and again try to post other unrelated info from time to time. If this practice is frowned upon, please let me know. I don't think I'm violating any of the forum rules, but I just want to make sure I'm not annoying anyone.
Thanks!
Howard

Howard, I'm pretty sure I approved your posting links to your videos... I for one really like your stuff and hope you will continue to offer it... I was not aware had such a restriction (I need to read our own stuff... ) Anyway, you now have permission to post your links... Thanks Chuck! That makes me feel a lot better. I just didn't want to have any problems. Like I said, I don't think I was in violation of any of the current rules here (although, I read the rules on the other forum I mentioned, and I didn't think I was in violation there either. Perhaps my reading comprehension has faded over the years!). In any case, I appreciate your quick response.

Was that forum "the other place" (the one from which burgs disappeared) or some other forum? I don't know why they would not want appropriate videos accessible. Spam and off topic content, sure, but not stuff that relates to the topic at hand.

I've grown to enjoy HR's videos a lot. At first it was hard to get past that mug of his, but once he started to brandish Hi Powers about I was distracted enough by the pistols to get past the other visuals. And while it may be true that HR has a great face for radio, I have come to look forward to his new videos nonetheless and have been checking out his older videos as well. Please keep them coming.

Spam and off topic content, sure, but not stuff that relates to the topic at hand. That would be the one. From reading their post, they are apparently upset about people posting links to videos, etc. and not otherwise contributing to the forum. There was also some mention of people using the forum links to boost video views and make more money. Like you, I'm not sure why they would care so long as the video is appropriate to the forum. Furthermore, I can't speak for other Youtubers, but I'm lucky if I make enough money from my videos to pay for the ammunition I fire while making them! I don't make the videos for the money, I make them because it's a fun hobby, and it's an extension of my being a firearms instructor and lifelong firearms enthusiast. I try to produce content folks will find informative and entertaining, and I'm constantly trying to improve my presentation and my production quality. I also try not to take myself too seriously, and just have fun with the process. I think that comes across to viewers and I get some really great comments from fellow firearms enthusiasts all around the world. That is particularly gratifying. Howard

Hello Howard,
I never watched many firearms related videos until I started watching Hickock45 videos. The reason that I like them is because he is pretty entertaining, somewhat neutral in his observations and just has a fun range of targets to shoot. I think folks are really bored with "pro videos" and critiques in the youtube world... I believe that you are definitely on the right track and your videos are actually both educational and fun to watch.
Please keep up the good work sir!
Best,
Chris

Your videos are informative and contribute to the knowledge base in a positive way. A lot of videos are obnoxious and are intended solely to broaden the "fame" of the participants. Yours are not like that. They are educational, factual and well done. Please keep them coming!
