I scored a nice Roy Baker pancake holster for my BHP off of eBay. It came from an estate sale of a gunsmith and appears to be NOS. It looks great and fits my BHP like a glove…

That is a great find!!! A very nice looking piece. I have two Roy Baker pancake holsters that I purchased from Roy back in the early 1970s. One for a J frame, and one for a Mod 19....both "snubbys". To me, they are well made, and carry like a dream. If memory serves(always a question) they were reasonably priced for that timeframe. Mine have a bit of wear on them, as they have been used, but have held up very well. I think that you will be pleased with this holster, especially the more you use it.

Nice looking holster indeed...
People tend to forget how very important a quality holster and belt is to effective and comfortable carry...
Nice catch there...

Mic214,
VERY nice holster! Roy Baker pancake holsters are collectors items in their own right. Yours is especially nice - looks like it was just made. I have two - one for a snubby K M-66 and another for a 4" N frame - both in my favorite brown basketweave - but I have never found one for my Hi Powers. Being as I'm a lefty, I likely never will find one either.
Thanks for sharing your most excellent photos!

Mic214,
Your thread inspired me to go on eBay and check for Roy Baker Holsters - and wonder of wonders I found a lefty black basketweave holster for under $50. So, thanks for the idea!

Mic214 I haven't received the holster yet, but here's a photo from eBay... That is a great looking rig! Actually joining this new BHP forum got me looking for a proper holster for my pistol. In the past, I had been using holsters for my 1911's. They worked OK, but I could feel a bit of movement with my holstered BHP. So I went looking for a rig that was specifically made for the Browning. I got lucky finding the Baker holster on eBay.....

Wes at Privateer Leather cut his teeth on holsters for the HP. I don't have any of his holsters as I thought I had sorted out my requirements years ago. But his willingness to work with guys to make exactly what you want suggests he's a good guy to have a talk with when looking for that holster that is exactly what you want.

I'm sittin' here waitin' for one of Wes's Privateer holsters for my Hi-Power. He makes really good'ns from what I can see on his web pages. I'll never carry a firearm in a holster not specifically designed for it. That Roy Baker Pancake for the HP is a good example of proper fit for a firearm.
