Found an interesting holster, represented as an Argentine High Power holster. Was somewhat skeptical. I could not find any Argentine High Power contract holster images. Vanderlinden has many holsters, but nothing from Argentina. I next checked Argentine military holsters, and the 1911 and Colt contract M1927 Argentine holster in varying forms are out there, and very similar to the holster I bought. Appears the 1911 holster has a wide front mag holder for two flat side down, side by side mags. The holster I now have has a single mag holder for a double stacked mag. As there were many similarities between the possibly HP holster and the Argentine 1911/M1927 holsters, I felt better that it might be correct, and at $25 which included shipping I couldn't pass on it and took a chance. Condition was not great, perhaps some re-stitching and small leather strap replacement on the back, the rest seems original. The HP and mag fit perfectly, so I am thinking it is correct. Has anyone seen an Argentine contract HP holster? The 1911 Argentine holsters that are similar are both pre war and post war. My example could be pre war, in my opinion it seems earlier than the 1961 Buenos Aires contract but that could be because of the condition. Any comments on authenticity and vintage would be greatly appreciated. A few images, last image shows two 1911/M1927 Argentine holster for comparison.
