Traded for a 75th anniversary Hi-Power

I traded for a 75th Anniversary Hi-Power.
It has the SFS installed. I’ve probably install about 15 of them for clients. This is my only one for me. The gun is a Mk III in the black painted FN finish. The slide shows it as a 75th anniversary model 1935-2010. The serial number shows 2009. So I assume it was completed in very late 2009 to ship to America for sale in 2010

Nice pick up. I am not a big fan of SFS on my HPs. I also don't typically carry my HPs, preferring a smaller/lighter sub compact like my Sig P365. But I do see the benefits of SFS when carried.

BTW, are those Spegel grips on the HP?

Yes they came with the gun. I removed one to see the CAS cartouche. I’m just not sure what wood it is.

I may move the SFS to a shorter Girsan. I only did the trade because I wanted the slide, and Mk III’s don’t interest me as much as the blued standards.

Spegel grips are getting so hard to find, and the wait can be over a year if on Craig's production list. Last I heard he was also cutting back to spend more time fishing.  Last few pairs on EBay have sold for around $300 or so.

I think the wood is Macassar Ebony. My first set I ordered from Craig was Macassar Ebony, and it looks pretty similar.

I agree that’s what it looks like. But I wasn’t sure.
