I have been searching for years for a pair of Kim Ahrends Hi Power grips and I finally, finally got a pair. Nicely figured Cocobolo, half checkered with thumb depression in great condition. I have been checking EBay, Gunbroker, and even posted in some forums looking to buy a set with no luck. Kim Ahrends declared bankruptcy and stopped making grips around 2020. From what I understand he was not getting great demand for Hi Power grips and stopped making them around 2010 or so. Thus the scarcity of Ahrends HP grips. Even good images of them are hard to find. I first spotted Ahrends grips years ago on EBay. I thought the grips were interesting but I was not familiar with his grips. IIRC I believe the set sold for over $150, and this was years ago. Maybe a couple of years ago I saw another set hit EBay and I was ready to bid, but then the auction was closed early. I assume someone made a nice offer and the seller closed the auction. Earlier this week I spotted a set again on EBay with a buynow. Price was high, about what Jon Aho charges for his custom grips, but I did not want to miss out, and clicked the BuyNow. As a grip junkie, I needed the Ahrends fix! If I did not get them I would be in a long state of regret, as I still recall the two previous sets I missed on. A few images mounted on a 1980 BAC Sport.

I am also a grip-a-holic, and have been forever. I don't recall ever seeing a pair of BHP grips like yours.......congrats!!! Thanks. There really are not many out there since he stopped making the Hi Power grips about 15 years ago. I found that reference on a forum from 2009 that stated in part "Ahrends used to make BHP grips that were relieved for the thumb and trigger finger. They discontinued them when they retooled because there wasn't enough demand" I do like them, they feel good in the hand, they are thin, and the fit was excellent. Here are a few images Kim Ahrends grips I have collected over the years. My set is the bottom left.
