I started shooting over 15 years ago and I bought my first firearm around that time. It was a new 2009 Browning Buckmark with rosewood grips.
It's not a John M. Browning design, but I guess it was influenced by the Colt Woodsman.
I have put many thousands of rounds through the pistol and it has been nothing but accurate and reliable.
I really love the Browning Buckmark. In my opinion it's one of the best allround .22 target pistols, together with the Ruger MK pistols. Also I think it looks quite nice and classic with the rosewood grips.
I'm never getting rid of it, as it was my first firearm. And I hope to teach my sons how to shoot it with it when they get older.

Great idea for a thread woodyb How about everyone post images of their first pistol. My first, about 2012, gift from my father in law. Very nice condition, Colt Detective Special, 1975

Wow, both great guns, and keepers for sure! I'm a big fan of the Buckmark pistols and my Buckmark Lite is my go to. I was lucky with my first pistol. I grew up in a Browning household and when I turned 21 this was my first choice:

Took some cellphone pictures yesterday. As usual, they came out crappy. We're expected to have cloudy weather here for the next 1-2 weeks. If the sun comes out after that, I'll try again.

Lookin' at you, ruber . This Hi-Power was my first gun, and for many years, my only gun. I grew up in an eastern city which shall remain nameless. It's a great town, and I love my home, but it was not a place to easily acquire firearms. So, it wasn't until I was in my 20s and living in California that I was able to get this gun and start going to the range. Attachments:IMG_2411 copy.HEIC (981.56 KB)

Very nice! Kinda interesting with mine, I probably put less than 200 rounds through it until I was in my 30's. No matter what I did, it shot low and left, so it sat in the safe a lot. I bounced through Glocks, CZs, Sigs, 1911's and got some training here and there. Finally took it to the range again and the first mag through it was the tightest group of bullseyes I had ever shot. In retrospect, I'm kinda glad I did all my training and made all my mistakes with glocks and cz's. It has allowed me to finally enjoy this one while it is still in good condition.
