One of my best buys of all time, this S&W Model 29-2 -that came in a presentation case. Nickel, 8 3/8" barrel, rosewood target grips, white outline adjustable rear sight with orange insert front, pinned and recessed barrel and cylinder, original cleaning rod w/brush, mop and screw driver, overall condition excellent. The original blue velvet inside case stuck to the grips when seller took revolver out of case for the first time in years when he showed it to me. That was a mess to clean up. Case had a few scratches, but just buried it in back of gun safe. After 17 years of thinking about it, I went to the S&W forums hearing that a member there restores these cases. Contacted him via email and found out he was only 30 minutes away from me! Talking about luck. Took the case to him about a month ago. He will replace the foam, blue velvet lining, and restore the outside wood all for the amazing cost of $60. He bent my ear on for an hour about these cases and S&W wheel guns. Very knowledgeable guy. Once it returns I'll post pictures.

Hello Wags, I can't wait to see the finished results and the Smith is in beautiful condition and deserves a nice case. Best, Chris Same here, Chris and thanks. I couldn't believe how nice of work this guy does on presentation cases. He lightly sands out the scratches then hand oils the entire box. My only question was: "How do I keep the gun oil on revolver from staining the new foam and blue lining?" His answer was waxing the gun instead. I've never done this to a firearm I've owned. He recommended Renaissance Wax. I was also told Johnson Paste Wax works too. Need to due a little research before I due either. First of July my case should be ready.

Please keep us posted... I have a number of S&W presentation boxes that have deteriorated over the years... Thanks Chuck I feel your pain Chuck. I'm looking forward to having mine back looking new again. Rumor is a refinished case with revolver will boost the value tremendously. I have no plans to sell, so I can't validate that statement. Today received a call from the gentleman who was repairing my Model 29 presentation case. He said it was a beautiful day and he and his wife were going to take a car ride to the lake, and was wondering if I was going to be home. He wanted to deliver my finished case. The pictures don't do his work justice. Glad I have it back!
