I keep getting distracted from my mission of finding an HP for my Apex Tactical parts. A short time ago I purchased an FN T series that turned out to be too nice to mess with. Now I spotted on Gunbroker a Tussey Custom HP, quickly looked at and thought it did not look too special. A few days later I took a closer look, and spotted the interesting narrowing/lightening of the rear of the slide. I know Terry Tussey (passed away in 2020, 2014 American Pistolsmith Guild, Pistolsmith of the Year) was a top 1911 smith, and also did some great custom HP work with longslide modifications. I have found numerous images of the Tussey slide channels on 1911. So now, finding it a bit unique with the slide channels I was interested, placed the only bid, and won the auction. Craftmanship is excellent, its a '76C, has a low mounted/machined into the slide Millett adjustable rear sight, rear slide channels, ramped front sight, bobbed and shaped hammer, MKII/III ambi FN OEM safety, action job and hard chromed. I added the Navidrex Black Micarta diamond pattern grips. Need to get out and shoot it. Anyone else have a Tussey Custom HP? If so please share. A few images Two Tussey Custom HPs on the cover of a 2009 American Handgunner magazine. These were recently offered for sale ($15,000) on GB and Guns International. They may have sold.
