New to the board. My brother has a 1970 c series that has a blued barrel except the ejection port side which is stainless. Gun appears to be original finish and the barrel seems correct match for the gun . Did they ever come blued ?

I am not aware of an FN OEM blued barrel HP, especially during that time period. Check to make sure the barrel has all of the correct proof marks as well as a production date mark. Production date mark for a 1970 C series would be a small number within a 4 sided diamond shape, possibly with a side or two missing. With that we can determine the date barrel was produced (if FN). If the barrel is original, I would remove the bluing, but perhaps it was blued to cover something up, so examine it well. Bluing is easy to remove, white vinegar or Naval Jelly, brake cleaner. Keep us posted.

Thanks, I got to look at the barrel today myself and it’s not blued . When he posed the question it was a mistake on my part . The barrel is in the white. I appreciate the answer. Thanks
