Almost forgot we had a section for rifles! I admit I am not a rifle guy, interests in firearms is about 95% Hi Power related. But, was at my FFL on Tuesday, and he had a nice condition pre-war Winchester Model 70, serial number 4444 (four 4s, thought that was pretty cool), dating to 1937. They made only 19 in 1935, and mine would be early 1937. It is chambered in .22 Hornet, so pretty rare. It also has a JW Fecker target scope. A few missing parts, but nothing major, the front sight hood, and the swivel slings, beyond that it looks pretty good and clean. Need to do a complete cleaning and oiling. I have ordered a couple of boxes of .22 Hornet ammo, and hope to shoot it soon. From what I found, the early pre-war Model 70s are rather collectible, and when you get into the non standard rounds like the .22 Hornet, even more so. Any experts on Model 70s that can comment? I still need to learn more about the Model 70 in general and the early pre-war versions specifically.
