I am considering buying an Inglis HP serial #CH2432. It has been Parkerized but is otherwise in good condition. It has a genuine walnut stock.
My question is did Parkerization ruin it's value? The seller asks $3000.
Thanks in advance.

The seller asks $3000. Thanks in advance. Welcome to HPC. I am not an expert on Inglis Hi Powers, but a quick check of some sales show a typical range of Chinese contract (CH serial number) at auction between +/- $1000-$2000. So the $3000 seems high unless there is something unique about it. If the stock is original it would of course add value. Some images if you can post (understand you dont have it yet) would help. Perhaps some others with more Inglis experience will add comments on value. If you go to Gunbroker and check completed sales with a search term of Inglis power, semi auto pistols, you should be able look at the images for the tangent sight version, and then check the serial number. I beleive there were several different CH serial number various, some with a prefix. Could be a value difference on some. Here is a couple completed sales on GB $3,600 with stock a 4CH serial # www.gunbroker.com/item/991192816$1,325 same seller with stock a 4Ch serial # www.gunbroker.com/item/995997128$957 a 3CH serial number, no stock www.gunbroker.com/item/995479384One at a regular commercial auction house, parkerized finish, a 5CH, sold for $1,450 plus 20% buyers premium www.liveauctioneers.com/item/138777954_chinese-contract-fn-inglis-hi-power-mk-i-pistolanother Gunbroker $1126, 3CH condition does not look great www.gunbroker.com/item/985914798Here is the link of the GB search, you might have to sign in for it to work www.gunbroker.com/Semi-Auto-Pistols/search/completed?Keywords=inglis%20power&Timeframe=1&Sort=1&PageSize=48

Thanks for your reply. I include pictures which show how the markings are filled in with the parkerizeing coating.
My question could pertain to any gun: how much does this later treatment change the value of the gun? It may have been standard practice by the manufacturer or the government.
