Greetings, fellow inmates.
The one thing I DON'T have - and would like to give a try in my 69C High Power - is one of the new OEM magazines with the mousetrap magazine ejector spring on the bottom.
So, I have a new in the box, nickle finished, 13 round Mec-Gar magazine that I have no use for. I would like to trade this for a current 13 round OEM magazine in similar condition.
I hear that many do not like the new OEM mousetrap magazines. Curious to find out why.
Please use the email contact option (if it exists) as my visits to websites can be sporadic at best, particularly at this time of the year.
Thanks for looking.

Did you know the 'mouse trap' magazines will damage the finish of your gun where the spring meets the rear of the magazine well? Makes a very obvious mark.

Just like the holster wear on the bluing. And the little dents and scuffs on the nice Spegal grips after many years... The only safe queen I own is an Inglis that still has about 80% of the decal still on it. I baby them in some ways, but they all go afield and/or out into the sticks

Jäger, I don't want to trade, but I will let you borrow one of my two mousetrap 9mm magazines. Or, I will trade for a mousetrap 40 cal that is in excellent condition (I might even have a NIB somewhere)--I have several of those, and I think that I read in that other forum that you have a 40 cal HP. So, if you want to try a 9mm mousetrap mag for a while, let me know by PM your address and I'll get one out to you next week. Rob

Greg Cote ( www.gregcotellc.com ) has the factory 'mouse trap' magazines in stock for about $25 and I think CDNN still has some for about the same price. FWIW CHuck

It might have been a while since you checked, but I can't find any mouse-trap mags on either of those two sites. Got a link?

I don't see them now either... they were on sale a month or two ago... I'd give Greg Cote a call... he is extremely helpful and if he is out he might be able to suggest a source. CHuck, do you realize the 13rd mouse-trap mags retail for $80 from Browning, $55 from Midway, and $65 from Brownells? I wish we could find them for $25 from anybody, but I have serious doubts about that happening. They're the only type of mag currently available from Browning. The mags without the mouse-trap spring are no longer available except from MecGar and brands I won't mention.

It took a little searching and alot of coin to get the three I finally obtained. The thing I like the most about the mousetrap mags is that if you haven't disabled your mag safety on your BHP, these will eject with some authority, unlike the non mousetrap mags which literally have to be stripped from the mag well. I really need to remove the mag safety disconnect on my latest BHP, not only for smoother mag release but to improve my trigger as well.
