I used to be a MagLite guy, but every time I pick up one of my flashlights, it seems that the Duracell batteries have leaked and destroyed the light.
Recommend me a flashlight. Olite or ThruNite. Something small and USB rechargeable for now. Under $100.

I only have an OLight on my Sig Saure X carry, and I have been very happy with it. It is an OLight, mini Valkyrie. Mine is about 5 years old and 400 lumens. I think the newer models have 600 lumens. I like it because it was not outrageously expensive, under $100 and powerful enough. It has a magnet connection for charging into a USB port or USP plug. It is small and fits well, which is what I wanted rather than some of the more larger/massive lights. It fit the rail and shorter X carry barrel perfectly and without problems. I have used the small Olight flashlights in the past and have always been pleased with quality, adjustable lumens and reliability. But, now that I look at your post again, I see you are looking for a regular flashlight. I have used several of the small OLight flashlights, always good, magnet cable, small in size for pocket carry. Never had a battery leak with them and I have used them for years. I have the Baton model, use it a lot, works great. Also I have had good luck with Fenix. Olight on my Sig X carry

For a practical general use flashlight, I carry two of the Streamlight MicroSteams (see below) and have truly used them daily for about five years. They are small and light enough to hold in my mouth when needed. They run around $30 each and recharge fairly quickly. Mine have been dunked it water and mud and have not failed.
As a bonus, you can substitute a AAA disposable battery in a pinch... I discovered this when one was apparently failing. I took it all apart, cleaning the threads and o-rings. It has not failed since.

I like Streamlight but there are other good ones out there as well... Battery Junction has very good prices on lights and batteries... I use them a lot. www.batteryjunction.com/ FWIW Chuck
