Due to an Uncle's passing, I was recently gifted a Browning 9mm made in Belgium. I took it to a gun store to sell (not much of a gun guy) and he told me I would be "an idiot" to sell to them. It's in pretty good condition and am looking to sell it privately. I live in Katy, Texas.
How do I go about doing that? Where does one go to sell privately?
Thanks, John

Probably the easiest way to sell it would be to list it on Gunbroker (www.gunbroker.com) which allows you to post photos of the gun you are offering. HINT: Good clear well lighted photos help sell your gun at a better price. Auctions often bring excellent prices.
You can sell face to face within your state of residence without Federal restriction. Texas allows face to face sales as well. To sell the gun out of state the transaction must go through a Federally licensed dealer (this is not as difficult as it sounds and Gunbroker has a lot of information on how to do it on their web site.
If you can post some good clear up close photos and the serial number (leave off the last two digits if you wish) we can give you some general estimate of it's value. Value is dependent on a number of factors, age, variant and of course condition which is a huge part of the value equation.
Hope this is of help to you.
Chuck

Thank you for that feedback. That was very helpful and will definitely reach back out for more guidance if it's needed.
