Nice shootin', Max. I don't like busy ranges either and I really prefer private land... All my 5.56s are Factory COLT'S as well, excluding my Specialized Armament Custom COLT M4A1 SOCOMs. Specialized Armament does amazing, high-quality, first-class COLT Rifle work. Look at the Shop Services Page and the SA Photos Page. www.specializedarmament.com/index.php?p=home

Bob, I know there are some very good quality ARs out there. I just have this fascination for things with the Rampart Pony on them. Max

Hello, Max, I'm with you all the way insisting on COLT, in fact, I'm often referred to as being a COLT "snob" when it comes to the AR-15® and 1911. FWIW: I only stock & use Genuine COLT Parts too (damn snob.) The COLT LE6920HB was actually spec'ed and designed at Specialized Armament in the Summer of 2003, and then later when the COLT 14.5" SOCOM Barrels were available, and Ken started offering the SS103 COLT/SA 14-Five-16 inch Barrel option, I couldn't resist. So, I got (2) COLT M4A1s with Std. Profile 14.5" Barrels and (2) COLT M4A1 HB SOCOMs with the newly released (at the time) 14.5" Heavy Barrel - all 4 received the SS103 Barrel Modification so they're only 0.164" longer than a 14.5" barreled M4, but they're not SBRs because the finished barrel is over 16". You'd actually have to Enlist to get any closer to a real COLT M4A1 SOCOM. Here's an interesting, detailed piece w/photos on the COLT/SA Barrel. www.specializedarmament.com/14-five-16-barrel

Funny hearing mention of Colt's AR15s.
I only have two ARs in .223. The first is a Colt's SP-1 I bought about 1992...(Gads! that is 30 years ago!) and a newer S&W.
Must be that I'm old fashioned... I still like S&W and Colts.

The SP1 sure is a nice rifle, Chuck.
We picked-up a few COLT AR-15A4s recently and they're nice, with correctly marked (AR-15A4) lower receivers - not the Post Q4 2020 lowers that are marked "CARBINE."
I still prefer fixed carry handles though - and will always chose my COLT A2 Rifle over my COLT Carbines.

Chuck, I'm a big S&W fan but all of mine are pistols and 99% wheel guns. There is just something about a hand cannon.

Not to be left out, I like my snakes also. I have found though that the Python like the K frame Smith just doesn't like a steady diet of .357. Of course with Smith they offered the N frame in .357 which is like a tank.

Although I prefer to stay with Hi Powers, you do need a little variety in life. A couple of Snakes, 1989 Python and 1993 Cobra.
