I typically keep an eye on EBay prices for Hi Power parts, manuals, catalogs etc. The prices are really starting to get out of hand. That said and what I am seeing, my spare parts collection, inclduing small internals as well as slides and barrels as well as extra grips have really appreciated in value over the past year or. For example, a slide, barrel grips, and various parts recently sold for $510 plus shipping and taxes. You can get a new EAA Girsan Hi Power for that, or a little more a full surplus Hi Power. www.ebay.com/itm/385020455339?nma=true&si=9tNJmtAK5QcSfdtAlrlkxlcdMtI%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557Or a set of redback grips, which have been altered to fit a MKIII, $191.50 plus shipping and tax. www.ebay.com/itm/394169723550?nma=true&si=9tNJmtAK5QcSfdtAlrlkxlcdMtI%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557and another set of grips, with B medallions, selling for over $190. These always sell high, are in demand, and are a nice set. But in the past probably around $125 or so. www.ebay.com/itm/155076581164?nma=true&si=9tNJmtAK5QcSfdtAlrlkxlcdMtI%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Do you have any idea what the JAC .22 conversions are bringing these days?

Do you have any idea what the JAC .22 conversions are bringing these days? I thought the Ciener conversions were selling for about the same as the MACS, in that $300-$400 range. It has been awhile since there was one on EBay, and I dont recall the last price.

Thanks for the Ebay link. Mine is in like new condition with four magazines and an unbroken locking tab on the box. I'll follow the sale to see where it goes and then decide what I want to do. It's at $495.

It's at $280 right now. Given your condition and extra mags, you should be well North of the final EBay auction price, as condition of the auction example appears well used. Perhaps similar to the MACs which recently sold on EBay.

My kit will definitely be up for sale as soon as this auction is over. WOW!!! I had no idea these things would be this much in demand. $495 with one day to go.

Well, the auction has ended at $710 plus $15 shipping. Absolutely amazing!! Prices for many Hi Power parts and accessories is crazy. Great time to sell. Good luck with yours if you decide to offer. Given condition and extra mags, it should do even better than the $710 example.

Prices seem to be moderating slightly as the economy slides. Saw some surplus FN marked Hi-Powers go for under 400. A MACS adapter kit went unsold at 300+ and relisted at 235 on GB. Some odd prices in my opinion, an 80SA goes for over 500 but FN models closing under 500? An alloy frame FN closed at 618, less than I expected Interesting times.
Sorry, just noticed this was an ebay specific thread, did not mean to hijack.

First, welcome to HPC and thanks for posting and sharing your observations. OP here, no worries on hijacking the thread, it is about the cost of Hi Powers and accessories, be Ebay, GB or private. I too agree, some Hi Power pistols and accessories are a bit manic and all over the place. I have noticed some deals on Hi Powers, or at least some fair prices on GB with Buy Now options. I saw a nice 2014 Sport with a Buy Now of $1,075 and a nice MKIII Practical with a Buy Now of under $1200. I wonder if the recent introduction of the Girsan (multiple models) and the Springfield SA 35 have had an impact on FN manufactured Hi Powers. I guess also our current political and economic times, expensive food and goods may too have a negative impact, as people are more cautious in spending and not willing or able to pay top dollar.

Thanks for the welcome. I agree, the uncertainty in the economy is likely affecting the hobby spending. Based on the comments I have seen, the purists don't think of the new FN as a real Hi-Power. I must confess I understand this view It strikes me a bit like the e-Mustang. It has the name but not the history and really is not quite the same.
I am a bit of a value shopper, I focus on the 300-600 market. This puts me into the surplus guns or beaters for the most part. They all still go bang and group well enough for my interests and I like knowing I won't be the one to ding the finish or let a careless fingerprint etch a mark. Every now and then I find a nice one poorly advertised or something is misspelled and the standard searches miss them. These sometimes go for a decent price.

It has the name but not the history and really is not quite the same. Great analogy on the e-Mustang vs the gas power pony car. I dont care for the "new" Hi Power either. My preference lean more toward vintage Hi/High Powers and some clones. But the new Hi Power really does not appeal to me, nor strike me as a true Hi Power.
