I bought this pistol about 25 years ago an I have never been able to date it. It has matching serial numbers on on the frame, slide and barrel and magazine. These parts also all have a rectangle with a 2 in it. The serial number is 53171. Any help would be appreciated. Mike

Your pistol frame was stamped by a "controller of proof" proof in the first quarter of 1952. If you show the other side of the pistol, we can tell you who the controller of proof was.

Good morning!
The mark *P is the Controller of Proof Mark used by Delcommune Adolphe from 1952-1960.
The Date Code is the number 2 in a three sided box on the right side front of the trigger guard. Yours indicates it was stamped for the first quarter of the year 1952. There may be similar marks on other parts (barrel, inside the slide, firing pin retaining plate) and they may be from an earlier or later quarter.
Nice looking pistol!
I have a 1950 High Power, also in good condition. I updated her with a complete spring change, SFS and new grips. The original grips had been replaced and lost decades ago. She runs like new. If yours is a shooter, you might consider new springs, especially the Sear Spring. They just wear out after time.
Cheers,
Tim

Thank you much for the information! I already have some cocobolo grips that I put on it. I have only replaced the extractor which broke and the slide spring. I don’t shoot it much but it is very accurate and dependable. I always wonder where it has been etc. Mike
