Couple more, perhaps not so commonly encountered, S&Ws. Performance Center 9MM 5906s built on the .40 S&W chassis, 4" and 5" versions. The 5" gun was ordered on an LEO only deal directly from S&W. Was like pulling teeth to get it, and I asked why it was LEO only. Apparently S&W had made a couple 5" guns for big time shooters, but of course the guns were seen by others at matches and some demand built up for them. S&W reluctantly agreed to build a few. I was told by a not-so-nice lady at S&W that they could only build a few, and making them LEO limited the number they'd have to build. I've read that perhaps somewhere between 50-100 were produced. I think there were several hundred of the 4" version built by the S&W Performance Center.

The late model S&W, pre-M&P semi autos are exceptional. There's a lot of NYPD guys who refuse to give them up for anything else.

Smith10, Yes, the CQBs were just excellent pistols too, IMHO. I got an alloy framed one, then an all stainless. I carried the alloy framed gun on duty for a year and a half or so. Never a malfunction of any kind. A very confidence inspiring pistol.

Yep,I got the stainless version, it was my duty gun for a time too. I wished I had gone with the lightweight version. Great guns.

Those are both TDA's? If the S/N of the 4"er starts with DPA, and it has the Briley bushing then it definitely is sweet. And the 5" version should have serious potential for accuracy. I have a 4"er but missed out on that PC 5"er.
Great 3rd Gens! Congratulations! Well done.
