My brother gave me Browning Hi Power SN# T292929. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Browning’s web site doesn’t have the sn# listed.

Images would be most helpful of rollmarks, proof marks and of the Hi Power itself. All help with identification. Is it roll marked Browning or FN? One serial number on the frame, or stacked serital number on the barrel, slide and frame? Look for small number marks on some of the various parts with most likely diamond shaped lines around the number. Look on the barrel foot, the back of the slide stop, the hammer, the trigger and even possibly the magazine if original. These will be production date codes where we can determine the date of manufacture for the part.
Serial numbers dont always tell the story. Also, the Browning website has serial number dates, but for T series they end early and in 1968. You can find T series Hi Power up to 1972, serialized at the same time as the C series.
