I had a black 1980 CB750F. I also had a bayonet of some sort and a P-38 with a welded barrel that I got out of the back of a comic book. The CB750F was my first bike. They say you never forget your first.

They say you never forget your first. I preferred the '80 and '81 750F. Nimble and quick. The 900F is a bit heavy but the suspension was very tunable. Plus it is a better double up ride with gear for two.
I had the sport kit on the 900F, rear set foot controls and foot rests lower narrow bars and the short CB400A mirrors that didn't vibrate. Metzler ME88 and ME99 rubber was a god send and it cornered on rails with a one inch front spring preload. Still thee 750 always gave better lap times and was stable jamming down the cork screw at Laguna Seca or down HWY1 through Big Sur.
Every time I saddle up I slide the zip tie on the right fork leg down so I know at every stop how much suspension I'm using on breaking and load float..
Thanks for the comment.

On my 1980 CB750F, I replaced the rear OEM suspension with Street Strokers, and I think I played around with the fork oil. When it came to suspension, I didn't really know what I was doing. I was guessing, and believing what I read in the magazines. I had low bars (not dropped bars) and often road with my feet on the rear pegs. I put on a Lockhart Oil Cooler, a Lockhart rear luggage rack, a "cruise control" thingy on the right grip, Shoei handlebar fairing, after-market mirrors (the name "Napoleon" comes to mind for the mirror company), and some soft luggage. I put on some crash bars — ridiculous, huge things, like on a cop bike. Among other things, I rode to from New York City to Los Angeles, camping out each night along the way. My brother had a CB400F. He was a bit of a jerk, but he always had nice toys. Anyway, in those days, I was a sport-touring rider mostly. I didn't really understand sport riding until I got to California and fell in with some, shall we say, sketchy characters. Sorry for drifting away from the topic of guns.
